465+68+30+11+7+4+2 = A Great 2011!

Spring is here, and that means it is time for me to get busy with some gear reviews of great gear I've used for the past year or more.  Some of the reviews I have planned for this year is a full KUIU review as well as a comparison of equivalent Sitka and KUIU clothing items.  I also plan on doing a  thorough review of my Mystery Ranch Crew Cab and Longbow pack bags that attach to the Mystery Ranch NICE frame.  I will be reviewing and doing a comparison of multiple binocular harnesses, including the Sitka Bino Bivy, the S4 Lockdown, FHF Gear Bino Harness, the Crooked Horn Bino harness and cover, the Badlands Bino Case, and others.  I also plan on doing a review of the Cabela's Bighorn II tent that has served me very well the last couple of years.

So, what do the numbers mean in the title of this post?  Well, they are but a few of the things I think of when I think back to 2011.  I ran 465 miles while training for hunting, logged 68 days afield, camped out for 30 nights, had 11 days straight of rain on my AZ archery bull elk hunt, hunted in 7 different AZ game management units throughout the year, participated on 4 AZ elk hunts, and missed twice with my bow, first on a 3x4 mule deer in August and then on a 5x6 bull elk early on in my elk hunt.  Those number signify a lot of time preparing and making memories here in AZ.  I was able to spend a lot of time testing out the gear I use and I was able to find out what works for me and what doesn't work for me.  Overall, I had a great year and I hope to be able to share some of that in my upcoming gear reviews.
